Faced with extreme conditions? Our sensors are designed to take on every endurance test

Furnace construction : Furnace construction and temperature measurement in and on industrial furnaces

From small laboratory furnaces to large-scale incinerators, from coating and hardening processes to waste incineration and crystal growing: Accurate temperature measurement under extreme conditions at times is crucial. That’s where RÖSSEL-Messtechnik comes in.
Backed by years of experience, we support our customers in the field of furnace construction with accurate temperature measurement. Our thermometers and products contribute to process control, quality assurance and product control. Many furnaces are especially designed for special applications. We produce temperature sensors optimized for specific applications as a result.
This includes our entire range of measurement technology from tungsten-rhenium thermocouples with special thermowells materials such as molybdenum or quartz to the bolometer used to measure the uniform heating of flat glasses or ceramics.

We will also find the optimum solution for your system with industry-specific calibrations, individual design and our expertise in special material applications.

Tempering, hardening, preheating

Thermocouples are used in the processing of steels, aluminum and other materials up to temperatures of approx. 1,000°C. They are a necessary component for guiding and documenting process and product parameters. The sensors used are characterized by their accuracy, robustness and recalibration capabilities.

Firing of ceramics

Thermocouples are used when firing ceramics in tunnel kilns or bogie hearth furnaces up to temperatures of 1,600°C. They are exclusively used for process control. These thermocouples offer impressive long-term stability and can also be recalibrated.

Thermal processing of small quantities in the laboratory

Miniature thermocouples which are exposed to a wide range of process conditions and environments are often used in laboratory furnaces. For this application, the sensors need to be able to withstand the temperature and chemical resistance of materials even when used at their limits.

Thermal coating (deposition) of solar materials

Thermocouples are used when coating glasses or foils in tunnel kilns or vacuum furnaces up to temperatures of 1,600°C. Long service lives and resistance to even the most aggressive vapors set these sensors apart.

crystal growing

Thermocouples with special properties are used in crystal-growing systems. They are manufactured with high-performance materials used for the thermowell and insulation materials. These thermometers measure the process temperature in an inert gas atmosphere under varying pressure conditions from vacuum environments to 200 bar overpressure.

Drying process

Thermometers are required in all drying processes to determine the temperature for process control. Whether in wood drying or paint drying plants – combustible vapors are generated everywhere. That’s why sensors designed to handle potentially explosive atmospheres are used for all drying processes. Due to the range of products to be dried, all ovens are unique, which is why our temperature sensors are often custom solutions as well.

Rust control, eddy current combustion

Thermocouples are used for process control in this process. Rustproof thermocouples and straight thermocouples with metal thermowells are used for demanding applications involving this type of combustion in power plants and waste incinerators.

Transmitting signals with radio system solutions

Growing demands on process monitoring have led to an increasing quantity of measurement data required in furnace construction. However, a lack of installation space and specified signal paths make data transmission complicated. In response, RÖSSEL-Messtechnik has developed a radio system capable of transmitting measurement data up to 100 meters with simple installation and without any signals. The radio technology transmits for two years without maintenance or interruptions and can also be used in plants subject to the requirements laid out in AMS 2750 for aerospace technology and CQI9 for the automotive industry.
